I have the best brother in law ever!! Yesterday he made my day and maybe my decade!!!
George Roussel is my sister Harriett’s husband of many decades. They have been married since I was around 5 years old. He and Roy both could fix anything, and I really mean anything!
Here they are loving on Samson, my little grandpuppy! These folks are old, they just don’t look like it!
Before Roy died you may remember we were able to buy back the rocker I rocked both Chad and Chip in when they were babies. My parents gave us the rocker when I was pregnant with Chad. Oh, what beautiful memories that rocker holds. Look at my precious babies in the rocker way back then!
Forty years have worn out that beautiful chair and it was remarkably still in one piece when we bought it back from thefamily we sold it to when we were preparing to live on the road in our motorhome.
Roy began disassembling the rocker but God called Roy home to live with Him in Heaven before he could finish it. Here’s the part about my fabulous brother in law!. Not long after Roy died I asked George (the magnificent brother in law) to finish restoring it. He immediately said he would. I had no idea how much work it would take to get the worn-out rocker back to its original beauty but he worked and worked on it.
Yesterday he and my sister came to visit and with them came the most beautiful restored rocker that looked as beautiful as it did the day my parents gave it to us.
Ta da!!! Drumroll please for the unveiling!

Of course, I had to sneak a cute picture of Samson on the beautiful rocker.
Some up close photos of George’s beautiful handiwork.
When I sat in it I was drawn back to the time I rocked and rocked and rocked my babies. I will forever be appreciative of my parents for giving this to Roy and I for our babies. I will now forever be appreciative of George for this true labor of love. I can’t begin to imagine what it took for him to achieve this level of perfection in his handiwork.
Thank you George from deep in my heart, I love you!
Tremendous story of love from your parents to Roy and to your sister and brother-in-law! Thank you Rosalyn for sharing your priceless memories.
