I wrote this to hopefully promote to friends and family in this area this great new restaurant, BOOT HILL BAR. Yes it is a bar. but the large room we ate in was not in the bar. Even if you eat in the booths in the bar you don’t have to drink. Of course you can, but you don’t have to.
Their food and service at Boot Hill was so exceptional that I hope everyone I know will go there to eat and give them a try! I am sure you will not be disappointed!
For several weeks we watched as a few stores on Main street in Amite, Louisiana were gutted and a lot of renovation went on to turn it into Boot Hill Bar and Restaurant. We live outside of Amite and passed in front of the new restaurant several times each week. All we could see was the major outdoor changes and couldn’t wait to see what was going on inside.

Our venue serves as a tribute to the time of the Prohibition and we carry that theme throughout whether it be our selection of unique whiskey cocktails, our full oyster bar and grill menu, or the ragtime tunes playing in the background.”
Our son Chip and his family took Roy and I to eat there for my birthday. The exterior of the bar/restaurant was cool but the inside was super cool! These first three photos are from their website and have “Make A Reservation” in the center of each so please ignore that! Back in my pre-dementia days I’d have removed that but now I don’t know how and Roy’s busy!

These are the dishes we ordered and loved!
Grilled shrimp with Grits – Misty and Kallie got this and gobbled it up! I had this when we were in South Carolina and didn’t like it there. Misty gave me a bite of Boot Hill’s version and it was delicious!
Two hand made patties, special sauce, house smoked bacon, yard eggs, and buttered pretzel bun. Don’t remember what this is called on the menu and couldn’t find it to share but Roy and Chip got this and loved it! 
Meatball po-boy with fresh tomato sauce (with fresh tomato pieces in it), mozzarella cheese, with delicious fries
We didn’t have this banana pudding in the photo below but when I saw this photo on their page I had to include it. Mouth watering Banana Pudding!!! Their presentation of all the food was amazing!
