Thursday, June 2, 2016 – Soon after we got settled at Hardeeville RV park on Wednesday we explored what’s around us outside the park. Savannah Wildlife Refuge Center is a few miles away and we enjoyed our time there.
First we took a hike along the walking trail seeing the different plants and trees there.
We followed the walking trail to the end which was at the Visitors Center. Nice place with lots of information about the refuge inhabitants.
Birds hung from a very high ceiling in the center.
On the refuge there is a four mile gravel road that takes you through the various areas. I’m sure there’s a lot of stuff out there, we just didn’t see it! There is an audio tour you can listen to by tuning your car’s radio into a specific station.
We did see one Deer, only it was a green John Deere tractor!!
Nice little adventure today. Thursday we are going to Hilton Head Island, SC to see what’s over there!
Ya’ll come back now, ya’ hear!
